Sample Testing
Characterization
By using GPC, HPLC, TLC, IC, FTIR, UV-Vis, NMR, LC-MS, AAS, ICP-OES, we are able to help
our clients in analysis and identification on polymer, organic, and inorganic samples. On the
other hand, physical properties of sample materials, such as Tg, decomposition temperature,
crystal structure, morphology, mechanical strength, surface area, etc., can be analyzed
through the use of DSC, TGA, XRD, SEM, Instron, Viscometer, BET......
With our well equipped labs, we provide a broad range of analytical services. Up to date, the
analytical services that we have performed for our customers are:
• polymer sample analysis:
Hydrophobic polymers - polymethacrylates, polyvinyl acetate, polystyrene, polyurethane,
fluorescent dye-tagged polystyrene, polyvinyl pyridine-co-styrene, polyphosphazenes, etc.
Hydrophilic or amphiphilic polymers - polyvinyl alcohol, polyacrylic acid, polyethylene glycol,
polyacrylamide-co-acrylic acid, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, amphipathic polyvinyl ether, fluorescent
polymer, cellulose polymers, etc.
• elemental analysis: drug Inorganic fillers, organic or inorganic additives, etc.
• pharmaceutical product analysis: API intermediates, etc.
Our GPC systems are the most frequently used equipment in our sample testing services. We
are very expert at the polymer analysis via using GPC systems. There are several GPC systems
in our labs used for testing hydrophobic and hydrophilic or amphiphilic polymers respectively.
Various hydrophobic solvents and aqueous solvent solutions are used for different polymers
testing on GPC. We not only select best-fitting solvents for hydrophobic polymer analysis, but
also optimize the aqueous solvent solutions for hydrophilic or amphiphilic polymer tests.
Generally, it is more complicated to analyze hydrophilic or amphiphilic polymers. The aqueous
solvent solutions have to be adjusted carefully to fit different polymers with cationic, anionic, non-
ionic or neutral features.
